Bangladesh women’s team made quick work of their Zimbabwean counterparts by winning the second women’s one-day international by nine wickets at the Queens Sports Park, Bulawayo on Saturday to take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series.
Nahida Akter took 3-30 while Salma Khatun and Jahanara Alam took two wickets each to bowl out the hosts for just 121 in 46.4 overs.
Fargana Hoque and Murshida Khatun made unbeaten 53 and 51 respectively to take Bangladesh to 125-1 in just 24.3 overs.
Batting first, opener Modester Mupachikwa made 33 and after her dismissal Nyasha Gwanzura remained unbeaten on 35 in an otherwise sorry batting display from the Zimbabwean women.
In reply, Bangladesh lost opener Sharmin Akhter for eight but Fargana and Murshida then formed an unbeaten 115-run stand for the second wicket to take Bangladesh home with 153 balls in hand.
Earlier, the visitors won the first match by eight wickets after bowling out Zimbabwe for just 48.
The final match will take place on Monday at the same venue.
