Performance reports will be issued after after 5000, 15,000 and 25,000 kilometres | Great Lakes Advocate

news, local-news,

This is going to be a long term road test with a difference, I own the car. I have just purchased a Kia Cerato GT from Mid Coast Automotives. You’ll hear how it is performing after 5000, 15,000 and 25,000 kilometres when I report. I had owned a Cerato S since 2018 and done 50,000 trouble free kilometres. It was a great car and is now for resale at more than I paid for it new. The Cerato GT comes with a turbocharged 1.6T-DGI four engine and seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, dual exhaust format and 305mm/284mm brake set. Power is an impressive 150KW (205bhp) with torque of 265Nm. Acceleration from 0-100kph is a brisk 7.3 seconds. The Kia Cerato GT is a true sports sedan with roots going back to the days of the Ford GT Cortina and Morris Cooper S. I tested an earlier Cerato GT back in October 2019. I was impressed that a 1.6 litre four cylinder car could accelerate as quickly as the legendary Bathurst winning Ford Falcon GTHO. I gave the Cerato GT a rating of 8.5/10. The new model has been further developed and refined. The low profile 18 inch Michelin tyres do worry me a little on our goat tracks masquerading as roads but we’ll have to see.
