The EFF Swaziland leader has allegedly been kidnapped and arrested by soldiers, following the suspicion that the leader was being watched from her place of residence.
Leader of the Economic Freedom Fighters Swaziland (EFFSWA), Commissar Nombulelo Motsa was reportedly arrested in Swaziland on Wednesday, 30 June 2021. The Economic Freedom Fighters South African (EFFSA) issued a statement on her arrest, stating that it has been reported that she was allegedly kidnapped, along with two other members of the EFFSWA, by soldiers who descended from a helicopter.
The suspected soldiers are alleged to have been conducting surveillance of Motsa’s place of residence. The EFF South Africa have called on the eSwatini Government to release the commissar immediately, as well as the others alleged to have been arrested with her, unharmed.
The EFFSA also asked the government and the Department of International Relations to summon the ambassador of Swaziland, and register the condemnation of South Africa on the state currently taking place in the country. The EFFSA also asked that the country condemn the intimidation, torture, arrests and killing of protestors calling for peaceful democratic reforms.
