Demi Lovato has finally stepped into her own when it comes to her sexuality and is finally living her truth after years of being ‘super closeted off.’

The 28-year-old superstar revealed that she identifies as ‘pansexual’ and plans on adopting children in the future during a podcast chat on The Joe Rogan Experience.

As of late, Demi has become a tour de force for sharing her truest and most authentic self with the public, begging with her hit documentary Dancing With the Devil.

‘In this moment I want to adopt [children] for sure,’ she told Rogan. ‘I also don’t know if I’m going to end up with a guy, so I can’t really see myself even getting pregnant.’

She continued: ‘I don’t know. I’m so fluid now, and a part of the reason why I am so fluid is because I was super closeted off.’

To clarify, the $100million dollar podcast host, asked Demi to elaborate on her sexual fluidity and whether that means she is pansexual – meaning she is attracted to a person regardless of sexual or gender identity.

‘What do they call that? ‘Pansexual’?’ Rogan asked. ‘Yeah, pansexual,’ Demi said, quipping: ‘[I like] anything, really.’

'[I] felt a lot of shame because growing up in Texas as a Christian, that's very frowned upon. I shut it down before I even let myself process what I was feeling,' she said.

While reflecting on her sexual identity, Demi told Rogan that she had her sexual awakening watching the kissing scene between Sarah Michelle Gellar and Selma Blair in the 1999 teen drama Cruel Intentions.

Over the years Demi has had well publicized relationships with men like her longtime on and off again boyfriend Wilmer Valderamma and, more recently, her failed engagement to Max Ehrich.

'I was engaged to a man last year. I totally thought I'd be married, maybe pregnant right now, and that's not the case, so I've just stopped kind of attaching myself to — I know that my life is not going according to my plan,' she told Rogan.

Earlier this week Lovato insisted she’s ‘too gay to marry a man right now’ and was ‘hella queer’ after calling off her relationship with Ehrich.

The former Disney Channel star told Entertainment Weekly: ‘Regardless if drama is happening or not, I am too gay to marry a man right now.

‘I don’t know if that will change in 10 years and I don’t know if that’ll never change, but I love accepting myself.’ As Lovato says with unapologetic bluntness, ‘I’ve always known I was hella queer, but I have fully embraced it.’

‘The queerness in me was, like, ready to explode when I filmed the music video at Pride. I was so ready to be an activist. And then people would ask me, ‘Why are you so passionate about this?’ And I would clam up.’

The actress added that she feels ‘much more empowered’ since splitting from Max, and felt ‘good’ after removing her $450,000 engagement ring.

Demi echoed her comments in a recent interview with Glamour, confessing their relationship was an eye-opener to the extent of her queerness.

The Camp Rock star said: ‘When I started getting older, I started realizing how queer I really am.

‘This past year, I was engaged to a man and when it didn’t work, I was like, ”This is a huge sign.” I thought I was going to spend my life with someone… Now that I wasn’t going to, I felt this sense of relief that I could live my truth.’

Demi revealed she has been intimate with a woman, which she said ‘felt better’ than her experiences with men, but she is hesitant to label herself just yet.

On her sexuality, she said: ”I know who I am and what I am, but I’m just waiting until a specific timeline to come out to the world as what I am…

‘I’m following my healers’ timeline, and I’m using this time to really study and educate myself on my journey and what I’m preparing to do. I hooked up with a girl and was like, ”I like this a lot more.” It felt better. It felt right.’

The screen star recently opened up about her history as a sexual assault survivor and near-fatal 2018 overdose in the YouTube Originals docuseries, Demi Lovato: Dancing with the Devil.

Demi said it was ‘liberating’ to share her story with the public, telling People: ‘Having put that out in front of the camera and knowing that people have seen that, it’s freeing. It’s empowering.’

‘It really lets that anger that was inside of me dissolve,’ she went on. ‘I had let go of a lot of the anger before and, but this was kind of just the final send-off, like, okay, I can really heal from this now.’
