CA approves 8 ambassadors’ nominations, 12 DFA execs’ appointments

The Commission on Appointments (CA) on Wednesday approved the nominations of eight ambassadors and the ad interim appointments of 12 Department of Foreign Affairs officials.

The confirmation came after the CA committee on foreign affairs recommended the following nominations to the plenary:

  • Noralyn Jubaira Baja -Chief of Mission Class I, as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of South Africa with concurrent jurisdiction over the Republic of Botswana, Kingdom of Eswatini, Kingdom of Lesotho, Republic of Madagascar, Republic of Mauritius, Republic of Mozambique, Republic of Namibia, Republic of Zambia, and Republic of Zimbabwe
  • Eduardo Eco Kapunan Jr. -Chief of Mission Class I, as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Federal Republic of Germany
  • Junever Mahilum-West- Chief of Mission Class I, as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the French Republic with concurrent jurisdiction over the Principality of Monaco
  • Deena Joy Dy Amatong -Chief of Mission Class II, as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Lao People’s Democratic Republic
  • Igor Garlit Bailen- Chief of Mission Class II, as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Russian Federation with concurrent jurisdiction over the Republic of Armenia, Republic of Belarus and Republic of Kazakhstan.
  • Enrico Trinidad Fos- Chief of Mission Class II, as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Kingdom of Normay with concurrent jurisdiction over the Republic of Iceland.
  • Marie Charlotte Golim Tang- Chief of Mission Class II, as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of Kenya with concurrent jurisdiction over the Democratic Republic of Congo, Republic of Congo, Republic of Malawi, Republic of Seychelles, Federal Republic of Somalia, Republic of South Sudan, United Republic of Tanzania, Republic of Uganda, Republic of Rwanda, Republic of Burundi, and Union of the Comoros.
  • Marian Jocelyn R. Tirol-Ignacio- Chief of Mission Class II, as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Negara Brunei Darussalam

Apart from the nominations of the ambassadors, the CA has also confirmed the ad interim appointments of the following:

  • Narciso Teodoro Castañeda: Chief of Mission, Class I
  • Gina Alagon Jamoralin: Chief of Mission, Class I
  • Nina Padilla Cainglet: Chief of Mission, Class II
  • Maria Theresa Sta. Maria Lazaro: Chief of Mission, Class II
  • Porfirio Maralit Mayo Jr.: Chief of Mission, Class II
  • Ivan Frank Modequillo Olea: Chief of Mission, Class II
  • Arvic Ventura Arevalo: Career Minister
  • Melanie Rita Balisi Diano: Career Minister
  • Mary Jennifer Domingo Dingal: Career Minister
  • Bryan Dexter Burgos Lao: Career Minister
  • Leah Victoria Carada Rodriguez: Career Minister
  • Rachel Anne Lindain Oronce: Foreign Service Officer, Class I
