A38 crash sees car hurtle into ditch in wet conditions

A crash on the A38 caused delays this afternoon after a car left the road and wound up in a ditch in wet conditions.

Derbyshire Roads Policing Unit released photographs of the crash, showing what looks like a Nissan in a deep ditch, near Little Eaton.

It appears that the vehicle left the northbound carriageway, hit a tree and fell several feet.

Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service also attended the scene, using a ladder to help the occupants of the car get out.

The accident happened just before 2pm and was blamed on the driver of the car taking a bend too quickly on the wet road surface.

Nobody was badly injured in the crash, according to officers.
